Praescientia
Praescientia platform rebuilt on Next.js: content structure reworked, bilingual dark-mode interface, and a partnership form.
The mandate
Praescientia works in psychosocial prevention for the transportation industry. The platform already existed and the mandate was to rebuild it: rework the content structure, then write the interface by hand at the same address.
The constraints
- Both languages had to carry the same information. A shorter English version would have left one set of readers with less than the other.
- Dark mode had to be the interface itself, not a setting to switch on somewhere.
- The address did not change. The new version had to take the place of the old one on praescientia.ca, DNS configuration included.
The approach
- The content structure was settled before any development, the same way as on the other mandates.
- The interface is hand-coded on Next.js and Tailwind, with no page builder.
- French and English carry the same depth, and the second language is written rather than run through machine translation.
- Dark mode is the base for every page, so there is only one set of colours to keep up to date.
What was delivered
- Full rebuild on Next.js and Tailwind, hand-coded.
- Bilingual FR/EN interface, with the same depth of content on both sides.
- Dark mode as the primary interface, not as an option.
- Partnership form, launch and DNS configuration.
